Trending ✨ Gatsby-themed Wedding Masterpost!

How-To's | Masterposts | Guides, Trending
Hello fellow bloggers! After having been a part of a Gatsby-themed wedding this past weekend, I felt super inspired to make a Gatsby wedding masterpost on creative ways to bring out the best of the Prohibition Era to your special day!
(P.S. If you aren’t already, go take a look at my Pinterest for more inspiration!)
Color Options
Black & gold have been the most commonly used color combination when it comes to this theme, but don’t be afraid to think outside of the box and swap out the gold for a cooler metallic like silver, or go even bolder and jump on board with the rose gold trend! What makes this trend even better is that whatever color palette you decide on, the flair of the party will bring an unparalleled elegance and unforgettable display no matter the time of the year!

Wedding Dresses | Bridal Accessories | Groom Attire
Once you have decided on being a Gatsby bride, your dress should complement the theme while sticking to what fits you, your body type, and your personality the best. That being said, my recommendation is to go bold with beading, embellishment, and lace. Think: vintage, romantic, and fun! Sheath and form-fitting mermaid/trumpet-style dresses are the most ideal for the occasion, and are light, elegant, and best of all very comfortable to party all night in!

Bridesmaids | Groomsmen
Each bride is different, and what she envisions her tribe to be in on her wedding day is a huge decision! A Gatsby bride can go a couple of different ways when it comes to picking out the dresses for her squad: 1) really drive the theme home and pull out all the stops with your girls as true-to-form 1920′s flappers; or 2) dress up the standard bridesmaids dresses with a little extra sparkle and some fabulous headpieces!

The dapper groomsmen will be sure to steal away the heart of any dollface in the room when they are dressed and pressed in their 1920′s best! Keep in mind that suspenders and bowties are an absolute staple that will really drive this look home!

Centerpieces | Florals
Go big or go home! Luxurious pearls and rhinestones dripping from bouquets of beautifully-arranged florals add an air of extravagance and elegance to your already-perfect day. Think tall, thin vases, art deco table markers, and remember that shiny metallics are your best friend!

Tables | Chairs
Glitter has seemed to have had a bad reputation for being the most annoying (and hardest to get rid of!) decoration on the planet, but it provides such a great sparkle and seems nearly unavoidable with a Gatsby-themed wedding. My way around it is sequined tablecloths or sequined chair drapery to give your party that dramatic edge without the mess!

Lights | Other Decor
I’ve always been a huge proponent of extra lighting in place of florals; florals can get so costly, even if bought in bulk, and definitely don’t have the reusability or even the life span that lights do. LED lighting has made a huge impact in the wedding and special events industry, and I encourage you to look into adding some special effects lighting to certain areas of your wedding, depending on your venue and set up.
Suiting your Gatsby theme, art deco signage with ties to the great Prohibition Era will be sure to bring out a good ol’ time in everyone!
